A little story of deterioration This is a small piece of a shellac record (we hope it´s not a rare recording of Ella Fitzgerald...) which has been lying in a solution containing isopropanyl alcohol for hours (you can already see the discoloration of the solution). Now Jochen takes out the piece and scratches with his finger across the surface which has already started to dissolve (pretty nasty). The tragic result of our experiment: an etching on a previously intact record and a filthy forefinger...
